Dusting is often overlooked when cleaning a home. Some people assume that the biggest problem with dust is the look of it around your home. While we at Maid to Clean are of course concerned with the aesthetics of your home, we’re more worried about the other effects dust can have.

Dust is made up of around 5,000 different types of particles. Most of these are natural and harmless (though maybe a little gross to think about) like hair, skin, and natural fabric fibers. Some particles are natural but can be harmful to your health like mold, fungi, and pollen. These most commonly disturb allergies but can also cause some to become severely ill. And then there are particles in dust that are a product of our modern society: flame-retardants, hydrocarbons, pesticides, and synthetic chemicals to name a few.
